Gerry Boylan has built a successful business career over the last 35+ years by focusing on investing with highly capable, high integrity people. The hallmark of this strategy is to use common sense and integrity and keeping it simple.
Gerry co-founded private equity company Long Point Capital in 1998, with offices in Royal Oak, Michigan and New York City. Long Point has invested in over 25 middle market companies and over 20 add-on acquisitions via three funds totaling over $500 million of invested capital.
Prior to Long Point, he served as the Vice President of Business Development for Masco Corporation. While at Masco, Gerry was involved in more than 35 M&A transactions with a total value exceeding $2 billion over a fifteen years, until starting Long Point.
He currently serves on an Advisory Board of Plymouth Growth Capital and has previously served on an Advisory Board of Shore Capital. He was a past member of the State of Michigan’s Venture Michigan Fund and the investment committee of the Detroit Investment Fund (now Invest Detroit.) He has invested with his longtime partner and friend Randy Fenton and other trusted partners.
Gerry views his civic involvement as a life priority. His service includes: 20+ year board member of Detroit PAL, past board chair and co-chair of PAL’s $20 million capital campaign to build the Corner Ballpark, an athletic facility for youth at the site of Old Tiger Stadium. Other past community activities were election to the Royal Oak City Commission and membership on other civic boards. Gerry was named a 2021 Notable Board Member by Crain’s Detroit Business.
Moira Clark is an investor and managing director of Boylan Holdings. For the past 6 years she has managed the investment portfolio, taxes, accounting and communication. She is also a member of the Investment Committee. Moira taught high school Social Studies for 10 years in New York before moving back to Michigan. Moira earned her Master Degree in Educational Technology from Iona College. She earned her Bachelor Degree in History and Secondary Education at Vanderbilt University.
Moira is a member of the Detroit Police Athletic League’s Game Changer Committee, encouraging and supporting PAL’s mission of Helping Kids Find Their Greatness, with a focus on girls and young women’s programs.
Other members of the Investment Committee are Moira’s siblings, Shannon Crepeau, Joe Boylan and Daniel Boylan and their mom, Kathy Boylan.
